Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Aftermarket Service Engineer to support a busy service center with a full machine shop dedicated to reverse engineering, repair, and manufacturing of centrifugal pump components. This role will focus on inspection, reliability improvements, and repairs for customers across industries such as steel, municipal, and energy.
You’ll collaborate with shop technicians, sales teams, and purchasing to deliver precise, cost-effective solutions that extend equipment life and enhance customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with shop technicians to review disassembly and inspection findings, determine causes of equipment failure/wear, and define repair requirements.
- Work with purchasing and shop teams to determine costing and price out repairs, incorporating upgrades and improvements as needed.
- Prepare scope quotations, including as-found documentation, photos, scope of repair, pricing, and lead times; coordinate with the sales team to finalize quotes.
- Enter work scope into the ERP system and create shop travelers for repair procedures.
- Manage critical jobs through the shop to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
- Participate in scheduling meetings and support project prioritization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering preferred.
- Experience in a job shop manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of machining processes, tools, and precision component measurement.
- Understanding of fits, clearances, and centrifugal pump design/applications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with manufacturing, business, or maintenance ERP systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to engage with customers professionally.
