Job Description
The Controller will report directly to the CFO and lead a small accounting team. This role is ideal for a proactive financial leader who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will bring a strong accounting foundation, excellent leadership skills, and proven experience in construction job costing and intercompany transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger.
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements.
- Oversee all aspects of construction job costing and WIP reporting.
- Manage intercompany transactions and ensure proper consolidations and eliminations.
- Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
- Provide financial analysis and strategic support to the CFO and senior leadership.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Mentor and develop a small, dedicated accounting team.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant GAAP standards and company policies.
- Oversee use of Sage 100 and support continued optimization of system capabilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- Minimum 10+ years of cost accounting experience
- Strong background in construction accounting, including job costing.
- Proficiency with Sage 100 is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with intercompany transactions and financial consolidations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Hands-on and proactive approach with a strong work ethic.
In-office role (no remote or hybrid) with a compensation of $125-140K plus bonus.
