Job Description

We are currently looking to hire a Corporate Counsel to join our clients legal team based in Canonsburg, PA. This position’s primary focus will be providing legal advice, risk management, and support across all aspects of their business, with a particular focus on contracts, compliance, and regulatory matters related to the biogas and renewable energy industry. This is a key role in an exciting, heavily invested, renewables energy business with operations across the US.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contracts and corporate law, with experience in renewable energy preferred but not required. Below is a list of the key responsibilities for the role, whilst not exhaustive, that you’ll need to be able to perform.

  • Lead contract negotiation efforts with their business partners, including industry leading project owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers. 
  • Analyze, evaluate, draft, and negotiate commercial agreements, including master agreements, lease agreements, purchase agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and other similar contracts. 
  • Collaborate closely with corporate leadership, project managers, purchasing managers and other personnel during the contracting process to achieve business objectives and mitigate risks. 
  • Produce and communicate legal analysis to senior management. 
  • Ensure timely and professional communications with all departments.

To be successful in the role you will need an undergraduate degree (B.A. or B.S.) and a Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission in good standing to a state bar. You will also need a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience alongside a minimum of 2+ years of in-house legal department experience. You must also have verifiable experience reviewing and drafting contracts.
