Job Description

We are hiring a Service Center Director on behalf of one of the most established global suppliers of engineered equipment and industrial services. With over a century of operation, this company provides critical rotating equipment and support to industrial and energy sectors across the world.

In this role, you will oversee both workshop and field service activities, lead daily operations, manage full P&L accountability, and support a range of rotating and heavy industrial equipment projects. You will play a key role in ensuring service excellence, driving operational improvements, and delivering complex solutions with precision and speed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct the daily operations of the service center to meet strict quality and delivery benchmarks
  • Oversee both field and workshop service activities, including rotating equipment repairs
  • Support project managers, superintendents, and field technicians in operations and troubleshooting
  • Implement best practices in safety, compliance, construction management, and productivity
  • Collaborate with preconstruction, estimating, and engineering teams during early project phases
  • Foster strong relationships with municipalities, utility companies, and private clients
  • Review and approve budgets, schedules, forecasts, and change orders
  • Allocate and coordinate team workloads to meet customer deadlines
  • Promote a clean and safe working environment aligned with ISO standards
  • Manage and mentor cross-functional teams including technical, admin, sales support, and machining staff
  • Ensure continuous communication between internal teams and customers
  • Lead lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Control material usage and resource planning to manage service costs
  • Produce accurate reports and project documentation

Required Experience and Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience repairing pumps or rotating equipment in a workshop or field environment
  • Mechanical and machining knowledge, including experience with metric and imperial tools, calipers, and micrometers
  • Proven experience in executive oversight of construction projects related to wet utilities and water pipeline infrastructure
  • Ability to lead the full project lifecycle from planning through delivery
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in dynamic field service settings
  • Ability to manage multiple teams and prioritize workloads across simultaneous projects
  • Excellent communication and reporting capabilities
