Job Description

We are currently looking to hire an Electrical Engineer to join our client’s engineering team based in Canonsburg, PA. This candidate will be exposed to our client’s diverse portfolio of plants and serve as the subject matter expert for the electrical design of CapEx projects within the biogas sector. This is a key role in an exciting, heavily invested renewable energy business with operations across the US.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background within electrical engineering in a similar industry. Renewable energy is preferred but also open to chemical manufacturing, oil & gas, or an industrial plant environment. Below is a list of the key responsibilities for the role, whilst not exhaustive, that you’ll need to be able to perform.

  • Designing electrical layouts: Creating single line diagrams, wiring, conduit, cable tray, lighting, and grounding plans.
  • Creating equipment specifications and construction specifications.
  • Performing power studies: Conducting short circuit analysis and incident energy calculations using ETAP or SKM software.
  • Ensuring quality of electrical designs by reviewing and overseeing work of others.
  • Acting as primary electrical contact in meetings with project managers, leads, and clients.
  • Providing engineering support across project phases: Designing, executing, installing, commissioning, and operating.
  • Reviewing drawings for compliance, developing test plans, troubleshooting issues, and supporting inspections and procurement.

To be successful in the role, you will need to hold a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field. You will also need 5+ years of electrical engineering experience within a similar field. PE license or EIT certification with multiple years working under a PE is preferred.
