We’re hiring an Electrical Engineer with expertise in commercial and utility-scale solar PV and battery energy storage systems (BESS) to join our growing energy division. This remote role is ideal for a licensed PE who excels in leading multidisciplinary projects and delivering high-quality, code-compliant designs.

You’ll support every phase of design and execution — from layouts and interconnection packages to detailed electrical studies — helping shape innovative energy infrastructure across the country.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Technical Leadership

  • Lead PV and BESS electrical design: layouts, single-line diagrams, equipment specs
  • Review and approve final designs for compliance and performance
  • Oversee system modeling, interconnection coordination, and documentation
  • Supervise engineering team members and contractors
  • Identify and resolve technical issues during design and construction

Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration

  • Serve as the lead electrical engineer on project teams
  • Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and structural teams
  • Communicate effectively with clients, sub-consultants, and construction partners

Standards & Process Improvement

  • Develop and refine design standards, templates, and workflows
  • Perform detailed studies (load flow, arc flash, grounding, etc.) using SKM, ETAP, or similar
  • Maintain high-quality documentation and time estimates for planning and budgeting

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • PE license (with NCEES record or ability to obtain quickly)
  • 10+ years of experience in utility-scale PV and medium-voltage design
  • Experience with grid interconnection and utility coordination
  • Familiarity with PV modeling tools (PVsyst, Helioscope, HOMER preferred)
  • Knowledge of NEC, NESC, IEEE standards; NERC/FERC familiarity a plus
  • AutoCAD and Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Experience with BESS design (strongly preferred)
  • Strong communication skills and project team leadership experience

Why Join?

  • Remote-first flexibility with national-scale projects
  • Be part of a growing, mission-driven energy engineering team
  • Opportunity to lead high-impact clean energy designs
  • Competitive compensation and career growth in a fast-paced sector
