We’re hiring an Electrical Engineer with expertise in commercial and utility-scale solar PV and battery energy storage systems (BESS) to join our growing energy division. This remote role is ideal for a licensed PE who excels in leading multidisciplinary projects and delivering high-quality, code-compliant designs.
You’ll support every phase of design and execution — from layouts and interconnection packages to detailed electrical studies — helping shape innovative energy infrastructure across the country.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Technical Leadership
- Lead PV and BESS electrical design: layouts, single-line diagrams, equipment specs
- Review and approve final designs for compliance and performance
- Oversee system modeling, interconnection coordination, and documentation
- Supervise engineering team members and contractors
- Identify and resolve technical issues during design and construction
Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration
- Serve as the lead electrical engineer on project teams
- Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and structural teams
- Communicate effectively with clients, sub-consultants, and construction partners
Standards & Process Improvement
- Develop and refine design standards, templates, and workflows
- Perform detailed studies (load flow, arc flash, grounding, etc.) using SKM, ETAP, or similar
- Maintain high-quality documentation and time estimates for planning and budgeting
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- PE license (with NCEES record or ability to obtain quickly)
- 10+ years of experience in utility-scale PV and medium-voltage design
- Experience with grid interconnection and utility coordination
- Familiarity with PV modeling tools (PVsyst, Helioscope, HOMER preferred)
- Knowledge of NEC, NESC, IEEE standards; NERC/FERC familiarity a plus
- AutoCAD and Microsoft Office proficiency
- Experience with BESS design (strongly preferred)
- Strong communication skills and project team leadership experience
