Job Description
We’re hiring a Field Service Technician to support high-voltage electrical testing and maintenance across industrial and mission-critical sites. You’ll work hands-on with equipment ranging from 480V to 500kV, supporting testing, troubleshooting, start-up, and emergency response for power systems across the region.
This role offers a mix of technical challenge, field autonomy, and collaboration with a high-performing service team committed to quality, precision, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform testing and maintenance on low, medium, and high-voltage systems (up to 500kV)
- Troubleshoot and test switchgear, circuit breakers, relays, and ATS
- Conduct diagnostics on transformers (Doble, TTR, insulation resistance)
- Execute cable testing: Tan Delta, VLF, DC Hipot, and power factor testing
- Calibrate and test protective relays (electromechanical and microprocessor-based)
- Respond to on-call emergency service requests
- Maintain detailed field documentation and customer communication
- Promote a strong safety culture and adhere to all electrical safety protocols
- Collaborate with team members to ensure project success
What You Bring
- 5+ years of experience in power systems testing and troubleshooting
- Hands-on knowledge of high-voltage electrical equipment and relay systems
- Familiarity with field test equipment and diagnostic procedures
- Self-directed with strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to safety
- Strong communication and client interaction skills
- NETA certification or technical/military training (preferred)
- Willingness to travel and work independently in the field
