Job Description
We’re hiring a Field Service Technician – High Voltage Electrical Systems to join a rapidly growing electrical services firm serving mission-critical industries. Based in Seattle or Wenatchee, WA, this role is ideal for an experienced, hands-on technician who thrives in dynamic environments and takes pride in high-stakes fieldwork.
You’ll work with advanced electrical infrastructure ranging from 480V to 500kV, performing testing, diagnostics, and maintenance across systems that power utilities, manufacturing, and critical infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform field testing, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of low to high-voltage electrical systems (480V to 500kV)
- Conduct diagnostic testing on transformers using tools such as Doble, TTR, and insulation resistance meters
- Execute cable testing including Tan Delta, Power Factor, VLF, and DC Hipot
- Calibrate and test protective relays (electro-mechanical and microprocessor-based)
- Maintain and troubleshoot switchgear, circuit breakers, and automatic transfer switches
- Respond to on-call emergencies and support 24/7 service needs on a rotating basis
- Uphold strict safety standards and documentation protocols
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients to ensure project success
- Share technical expertise and assist in training or mentoring when required
What You Bring
- 5+ years of experience in electrical field service and high-voltage system maintenance
- Proven expertise in power systems testing, relay calibration, and transformer diagnostics
- Strong understanding of NETA standards, OSHA regulations, and site safety compliance
- Comfortable working independently in changing field environments
- Technical certifications (NETA, NICET) or equivalent military/utility training preferred
- Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
- Based in or willing to relocate to the Seattle or Wenatchee area
