NETA Certified Test Technician
Accurate execution of a wide range of tests, inspections, manufacturer warranty, start-up maintenance, and repairs for low and medium voltage (up to 35kV) electrical equipment at end-user facilities. This will be a traveling/remote position with about 2.5 weeks travel, 1 week remote, then repeat.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and test electrical busway power distribution systems, identifying malfunctions or defects using wiring diagrams and testing equipment.
- Conduct instrument transformer tests, power transformer testing using Doble, TTR, insulation resistance, electro-mechanical, and solid-state relay testing.
- Perform low and medium voltage switchgear and circuit breaker testing.
- Test, maintain, and repair substation relay and control systems.
- Maintain and prepare detailed records for tests, repairs, and maintenance activities.
Qualifications
- Relevant Experience: At least 2 years of hands-on electrical testing experience.
- Industry Experience: A minimum of 5 years working in heavy industry, large commercial buildings, or construction with related tasks.
- Physical and Sensory Requirements: The role requires specific physical and sensory abilities, which must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Driver’s License: Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Professional Certifications: Must hold or be able to obtain and maintain NETA Level II, III or IV certification.
- Safety Certifications: OSHA 30-hour, MSHA, NFPA 70-E, CPR/First Aid/BBP/AED (if not current, ESR Electrical Services will provide).
