Job Description
We are seeking an experienced General Superintendent to lead all field operations for underground wet utility construction projects across Southern California. This includes managing the installation of water, sewer, storm drain, and fire line systems across multiple active job sites.
This is a high-impact leadership role focused on ensuring safety, quality, schedule adherence, and budget control. The successful candidate will manage field teams, oversee jobsite coordination, and collaborate closely with cross-functional project stakeholders.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee day-to-day field operations across multiple job sites
- Supervise and mentor superintendents, foremen, and field crews
- Review construction plans, ensuring accuracy and field feasibility
- Coordinate materials, equipment, manpower, and inspections
- Lead jobsite safety efforts in alignment with OSHA and company standards
- Host project meetings, foreman check-ins, and field audits
- Troubleshoot and resolve on-site issues to avoid project delays
- Work in close partnership with project managers and directors to ensure successful delivery
- Monitor equipment use and maintenance to support productivity
What We’re Looking For
- 10–12+ years of experience in underground wet utility construction
- 4+ years in a supervisory or superintendent role
- In-depth knowledge of trenching, shoring, and pipe installation
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents
- Solid understanding of OSHA standards and site safety (OSHA 30 preferred)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and tools like PlanGrid, Bluebeam, COINS, or PlanSwift
- Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record
- Willing to travel to sites and be field-based 75–80% of the time
