Job Description

We are hiring a Mechanical Engineer with strong experience in pressure vessel design and documentation. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze pressure vessels and heat exchangers in accordance with ASME BPVC Section VIII
  • Develop complete engineering design packages including calculations, drawings, and documentation
  • Review supplier submittals to ensure code compliance and alignment with design requirements
  • Collaborate with structural, thermal, and nuclear engineers throughout the product lifecycle
  • Support vendor engagement and procurement for pressure-retaining components
  • Oversee fabrication, inspection, and testing to ensure quality and compliance
  • Contribute to nuclear-grade design efforts involving ASME Section III components, where applicable
  • Maintain documentation in accordance with internal quality and external regulatory standards

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience designing pressure vessels to ASME Section VIII standards
  • Proficiency with tools such as COMPRESS, DesignCalcs, or similar software
  • Working knowledge of materials, welding techniques, and fabrication methods for pressure systems
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing heat exchangers (shell-and-tube, printed circuit, etc.)
  • Familiarity with ASME Section III and nuclear component design
  • Background in quality-driven environments such as those governed by ASME NQA-1
  • PE license or ability to obtain professional licensure
