Job Description
We are hiring a Mechanical Engineer with strong experience in pressure vessel design and documentation. Key Responsibilities
- Design and analyze pressure vessels and heat exchangers in accordance with ASME BPVC Section VIII
- Develop complete engineering design packages including calculations, drawings, and documentation
- Review supplier submittals to ensure code compliance and alignment with design requirements
- Collaborate with structural, thermal, and nuclear engineers throughout the product lifecycle
- Support vendor engagement and procurement for pressure-retaining components
- Oversee fabrication, inspection, and testing to ensure quality and compliance
- Contribute to nuclear-grade design efforts involving ASME Section III components, where applicable
- Maintain documentation in accordance with internal quality and external regulatory standards
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience designing pressure vessels to ASME Section VIII standards
- Proficiency with tools such as COMPRESS, DesignCalcs, or similar software
- Working knowledge of materials, welding techniques, and fabrication methods for pressure systems
- Strong communication and technical writing skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing heat exchangers (shell-and-tube, printed circuit, etc.)
- Familiarity with ASME Section III and nuclear component design
- Background in quality-driven environments such as those governed by ASME NQA-1
- PE license or ability to obtain professional licensure
