Job Description
We’re seeking a skilled and motivated NETA Field Service Technician to join our client’s electrical power services team in Austin, TX. This is a hands-on role where every day brings something different, from testing high-voltage systems to troubleshooting mission-critical equipment at customer sites across the region. Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, test, and troubleshoot low, medium, and high-voltage (up to 500kV) electrical systems.
- Perform acceptance testing and maintenance on power transformers using diagnostic tools (Doble, TTR, insulation resistance meters).
- Conduct instrument transformer testing, cable testing (Tan Delta, Power Factor, VLF, DC Hipot), and relay calibration.
- Diagnose and repair automatic transfer switches, switchgear, and circuit breakers.
- Provide on-call emergency response and timely field support as needed.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and industry standards at all times.
- Maintain detailed work documentation and communicate clearly with customers and internal teams.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on field experience with electrical power systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance procedures.
- NETA certification (or equivalent) strongly preferred.
- Military training or additional technical certifications a plus.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to dynamic environments.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
