Ideal candidates will bring strong computational skills and a collaborative mindset to help shape the future of advanced nuclear systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine advanced reactor simulation tools using Serpent, MCNP, OpenMC, and related platforms
  • Perform detailed subchannel flow and heat transfer modeling within reactor cores
  • Conduct shielding and radiation transport simulations using variance reduction techniques
  • Use multiphysics tools (e.g., MOOSE, BISON, MARMOT) to assess thermomechanical behavior and structural performance
  • Apply statistical and computational techniques to evaluate simulation confidence and design sensitivities
  • Collaborate with engineers and scientists to contribute to system-level reactor innovation and decision-making

Required Qualifications

  • MS or PhD in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline
  • 5–7+ years of experience in nuclear reactor simulation, modeling, or advanced energy systems
  • Proficiency with tools such as Serpent, MCNP, OpenMC, MOOSE, BISON, ANSYS, or COMSOL
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical challenges in reactor design or performance modeling
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills in multidisciplinary settings
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or otherwise eligible under DOE Part 810 export control regulations

Why Join

  • Contribute to high-impact projects advancing next-generation nuclear systems
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team of leading experts
  • Gain exposure to state-of-the-art simulation tools and system-level design work
  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package
