Senior Estimator | Wet Utilities

Looking to take your estimating career to the next level on complex, high-impact infrastructure projects?

We’re hiring a Senior Estimator for a well-established, employee-owned construction firm that has specialized in underground wet utility installations for over 25 years. Our projects support commercial, industrial, and residential developments across Southern California. We work closely with leading developers, contractors, and municipalities to deliver water, sewer, storm drain, and fire line systems to the highest standards.

What You’ll Do

• Create detailed cost estimates for wet utility projects including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead
• Lead pre-bid site visits and meetings with clients to capture scope and expectations
• Review civil drawings, specs, soils reports, and district standards for takeoffs and bids
• Use estimating software such as PlanSwift, OST, and Bluebeam to perform digital plan reviews
• Present and justify estimates during internal reviews and project handoffs
• Support change order pricing, forecasting, and constructability reviews throughout project delivery
• Mentor junior estimators and support continuous learning within the estimating team

What You Bring

• 10+ years of civil estimating experience, with a strong focus on wet utilities and pipeline systems
• Advanced understanding of civil plans, specs, and agency requirements (especially water districts)
• High proficiency with takeoff tools and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Project)
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• A proactive, detail-focused approach to cost control and bid strategy
