Job Description

Join a precision manufacturing company where your craftsmanship powers innovation and product quality. We’re hiring a Toolmaker with hands-on experience across the full lifecycle of injection mold tooling—from fabrication and repairs to performance improvements.

This is a technical, high-impact role in a collaborative, clean, and modern facility.

Key Responsibilities

Mold Repair & Maintenance

  • Disassemble, troubleshoot, and repair hot and cold runner molds
  • Address tool wear, breakdowns, and performance issues

New Tool Builds

  • Build molds to spec using manual machines and CNC/EDM
  • Collaborate with engineering on tooling fit, finish, and integrity

Production Support

  • Perform welding, polishing, grinding, and finishing tasks
  • Assist in tool commissioning and inspection of first-run parts

Quality & Documentation

  • Maintain tolerances to ±0.0002” using precision measuring tools
  • Document repairs, changes, and tool performance data

Continuous Improvement

  • Recommend design improvements for performance and lifespan
  • Support 5S, lean, and kaizen initiatives in the tooling department

What You Bring

Technical Skills

  • 5–10+ years of experience in mold repair and toolmaking
  • Skilled in mills, lathes, grinders, and CNC/EDM equipment
  • Ability to disassemble, weld, clean, and reassemble molds
  • Experience with SolidWorks, Mastercam, or other CAD/CAM tools
  • Strong understanding of mold steels, runners, and tolerance control

Soft Skills

  • Proficient with calipers, micrometers, and other inspection tools
  • Safety-focused, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
  • Team player with a strong problem-solving mindset

Preferred

  • Journeyman Toolmaker certification
  • Experience mentoring junior technicians
  • Background in 5S or lean manufacturing
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and operating hoists or forklifts
